Chronic Sinusitis

While “life changing” may seem dramatic for my acupuncture results, I had 2 doctors pump my sinuses full of steroids and then suggest surgery. After 10 sessions of acupuncture, I was breathing easily with no nasal inhalants for the first time in several years. Since then, I have a quarterly re-boot to keep my system in order, and I’ve have no sinus problems. Previously, I was not a believer of this type of treatment but the possibility of surgery made me reconsider, and the results have been truly amazing.

World-Class Athlete with Hip Pain

Having an injury as a college Division-1 and nationally-ranked athlete is miserable. I had exceeded all other options and felt as though nothing was going to help. The pain was unbearable which is why it is a blessing to have met Michael. He is very professional and listened to everything about the injury. I felt as though he really understood and I trusted him. His acupuncture and bodywork is the only thing that helped my hip and back pain. I was able to compete and be at top performance. I went back to him for a shoulder injury too. I will always go to him if I need anything. He is great! I am definitely a believer in acupuncture and his work! It is seriously the only thing that helped me. Thank you, Michael!

Healthy Lifestyle Changes

To say the Michael helped me change my life is an understatement. For years I had been on the modern American medical treadmill, taking cycle after cycle of antibiotics for a “tough” case of tonsillitis that none of my doctors could “cure.” After several years of this, the last option given to me was to have my tonsils removed. For some reason, my instincts told me that I should keep them. I was disillusioned with the medical establishment’s “5 minutes” of time with me and I set out to find an alternative.

From my first meeting with Michael, my entire concept of health and well-being changed. Right from my first session with him, he instilled in me an honest feeling that he was truly concerned for my well-being and I immediately sensed his real desire to get to the root of my problem and help me help myself. Without getting into too much detail, he was able to diagnose and treat the true cause of my recurring tonsillitis, guide me towards a proper diet and exercise regimen that would help keep the problem from recurring and put me on a path to better health and well-being.

His greatest gift, beyond his amazing expertise at diagnosing problems and his deftness at the actual act of needling, is his willingness to share and pass on the knowledge he has gained over his years of training. He can distill very complex concepts of ancient Chinese medicine into clear explanations that anyone can understand and will encourage you to integrate these concepts into your daily life. Whether it relates to mental well-being, meditation, diet, exercise or more complex concepts such as the energetics of food and the balances of the five flavors, it is this all-encompassing approach that puts Michael head and shoulders above his peers, as well as the modern medical establishment… an establishment which discourages this honest inquiry and wants you to just “take this pill.”

If you, like I, have become disillusioned with what passes for “health care” in the modern world, but are not ready to give up and become a perpetually sick statistic, please make an appointment with Michael ASAP. And remember, you do not need to be “sick” to benefit from Michael’s treatments… anyone reading this will benefit from a healthy change in life-style that Michael will help you achieve!

Dancer’s Foot Surgery

I am a dancer who had surgery on both feet, and Michael helped bring ease of motion and grounding back into my toes. ACL Tear

I’ve been a patient of Michael’s for about 3 years now and he’s nursed me through severe whiplash from a car accident (in fact acupuncture was the sole treatment I got) and through rehab for a really bad ACL tear with lots of complications. Unlike some nontraditional healing specialists, Michael has a very pragmatic, accessible, western approach to explaining and applying this eastern medicine. His care has also helped me through a ton of weekend warrior injuries and the physical effects of really bad stress. Michael has great healing hands, a very professional and accessible demeanor and a generous heart.‎

Tight Hamstrings

Michael’s acupuncture treatments and bodywork relieved the chronic pain I had been feeling from tight hamstrings and calves. Michael also recommended stretches for me to do at home so that I could participate in my own health care. I feel great now! Thanks!

Marathon Runner

About 2 and a half years ago, I started to see Michael in order to treat a running related injury. Michael was the perfect acupuncturist for me. He has the right mix of familiarity with acupuncture, Oriental Medicine and sports medicine. While my running injury was successfully treated, I’ve moved on from treating the specific problems to the more general approach towards holistic treatment. I’m happy to say that I’ve run 8 marathons since I’ve been seeing Michael and have never had a problem either in the training or in the recovery.

I’ve continued to see Michael to improve my overall sense of well being and help prevent small problems from becoming large problems. We start each session with a rundown of how my physical and mental health has been going over the past week or two. There’s a nice sense of continuity as we review the ups and downs that life brings as well as the patterns related to energy and stress. From time to time we’ve successfully used some Chinese herbs to augment the acupuncture treatments.

Michael’s technique with the acupuncture needles is very smooth. I’ve recommended friends who have never been to acupuncture before because I know that they will not have a painful or unpleasant experience. I’ve been treated by many acupuncturists over the past several years and feel that Michael is the right person for someone who is looking to either help a specific problem or improve their overall sense of well-being.

Car Crash Injuries

Michael demonstrates an empathic and positive approach by treating the WHOLE person. Notably, what started out with acupuncture treatments for tendonitis in my hands and neuritis in my foot (from past dancing days), shifted when a year later, I was in a car accident. I had severe pain from 2 herniated (and several bulging) discs in my upper and lower back. I saw a physical therapist and specialists, all of whom were very sympathetic, but they were unable to alleviate the pain. However, when Michael did acupuncture on my back the pain subsided! With his highly skilled treatment approach, I’ve been able to go back to work and get off pain medication more quickly. Now, I go for maintenance and Michael has helped me regain the emotional/physical stamina to live a more normal life again!

Immunity Boosting & Insomnia

I started seeing Michael a year and a half ago, my immune system and sleep pattern have improved overwhelmingly. I used to get at least 2 or 3 awful sinus infections every year; I have not had any since seeing him for treatment.

Menstrual Pain & Migraine Headaches

Michael Pingicer has really changed the way that I approach my health. Over the years he has helped me so much - from general lifestyle issues such as poor immunity to chronic menstrual pain and migraine headaches, just to name a few. In terms of Chinese Sports Medicine, he has opened my eyes to using acupuncture and herbs to treat my knee pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. I like that I’m not dependent on drugs to just numb the pain. Chinese medicine treated the source of my pain, not just the symptoms. I’m very grateful to have found someone to help me maintain my health and support my busy & active lifestyle!
