About Michael
Michael Pingicer M.S., L.Ac., Dipl. O.M. is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) Board Certified Chinese herbalist with primary interests in orthopedic and sports medicine, men’s health, and general internal medicine.
He holds a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Touro College, New York, NY and holds a major in anthropology & a minor in chemistry from The College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, VA. He has trained in the neurological & orthopedic rehabilitation, oncology, and obstetrics and gynecology departments at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where he worked closely with a variety of healthcare workers. Michael is certified with the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) for his work with acupuncture and addiction. He has volunteered on a successful mission with the Tibetan Refugee Healthcare Project treating Tibetan refugees in India with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
In addition to his graduate work in Chinese medicine and biomedical sciences, he has advanced training in Zheng Gu Tui Na, a Chinese medical massage and joint mobilization system. He is adjunct professor teaching Chinese dietetics and chemistry. Michael is a longtime practitioner of meditation with extensive training in vipassana (insight) meditation which he integrates into patient treatment.
